A Few Notes From Cheryl
For those of you who look forward to InSights
the first part of each month, you've probably
realized that this month's edition is a little later than usual - my
apologies! I have been leading several workshops the past few
weeks -- "Mid-Life and Beyond: Are You Ready?"
at the St. Helena Hospital Women's Center, "Bring Back That Lovin'
Feeling Into Your Job and Your Life" at University of California - San
Francisco, and "Top 10 Networking Tips for Virtual Assistants" for a
Get Clients Now group.
The other reason for the delayed newsletter this month is that I chose
to take two days off last week for reflection time at the
beach (one of my favorite places - Aptos, CA) and it was
fabulous. I
relaxed on the beach, experienced the sunshine and the ocean breeze on
my face, the sound of the crashing waves and the ripples of the water,
with each wave bringing in new possibilities. I almost didn't go
on this short trip, because I was "too busy" -- and then, I realized,
that being "too busy" was exactly the reason I needed the days off, so
I went! I arrived back home, ever so grateful
for that opportunity, and when I went back to my daily routine, I was
refreshed and much more energized than before.
Speaking of daily routines, see below for this
month's feature article...
Enjoy,

Feature Article: How Well is Your
Routine Working?
Fall is officially here, and I've noticed an interesting thing that
happens this time each year. Not only are kids going back to
school and settling in to their routines, but adults are also getting
back to their routines. Some of these are routines they love, and
some are not.
For example, many of my individual coaching clients are getting
re-energized with their exercise routines -- they're going back to the
gym and their yoga classes regularly again, after a summer break.
Because we talk about the benefits of making choices that fit our
values, many of my clients are looking at their routines right now to
see what parts of their daily routines work well for them and what
parts are not working well for them.
Fall is a wonderful time for all of us to examine our raily routines
and, if needed, make the adjustments that will work better for
us. Here are a few places to look to start this process:
- What is in your routine, whether intended or
not?
- What specific part(s) of your daily routine
contribute to you being the person you want to be each day, and WHY?
- What is one thing you will do differently,
starting today, to
create a daily routine that will help you enjoy each day and maximize
your effectiveness in both your personal and work life?
- Who will you ask to help hold you accountable
to making that change?
As always, I love hearing what you'll do
differently as a result of these monthly
inquiries, so feel free to send me an e-mail
with your
thoughts!

Upcoming
Workshops and Teleclasses
Women Health Care Professionals Coaching
Group -
Starts October 7
Are you a woman health care professional (or do you know a woman health
care professional) who would achieve your goals
more quickly if you had:
- Support and mentoring from a
small group of like-minded individuals?
- Accountability for
achieving your most meaningful goals?
A few comments from past participants: "Very helpful to hear
feedback from different perspectives" and "It's especially great
because we don't get this support at work"
You're invited to join the small group that will meet by
phone to support you in achieving your specific desired goals.
This group
starts October 7 and space is limited to the first 6 enrollees, so be
sure to
register by September 24 to hold your spot. See http://www.goalsinsight.com/teleclasses.htm
for details,
registration and feedback from past participants.
Corporate
Retreats and Off-Site
Meetings: Is your department planning an off-site meeting
or end-of-year retreat to re-energize your employees? Do you
want to reward your team for a job well done?
If so, consider a half-day or all-day workshop for your staff on topics
such
as:
- How to make your job meaningful and fulfilling again
- How to become the leader/manager you desire

- Setting and achieving meaningful goals
This is a great
